Why I love "Crescent city"? |

Crescent city The author The plot Why I love the book? |
"Crescent
city" is one of the most emotional books I've ever read.
Even though a lot of people say the world building and the
plot were really slow, for me it was exactly the opposite.
I've never read such a good written book with so much
dynamic as that one. Maybe the thing I liked the most was
the friendship trope because the book is a great example
of what a real friendship looks like - it's still alive
even after death. You know a book is good when you feel sad while closing it. "Crescent city" is that type of book for me. I spent the whole holiday between the two terms staying at home and reading it. The plot twists in the book were so unexpected and I tried really hard to stay safe from the spoilers on the internet. The second book was another emotional roller coaster. It had a different storyline from the first one, but it saved some of the tropes, especially the friendship one. Also, "Crescent city" contains the trope of a powerful self-enough woman. The main character hates when man try to protect her or tell her what to do. She loves dealing with her problems alone and she often calls those overprotective man "Annoying alpha males". She also has fantastic sense of humor and is actually very smart, although she tries to put on the mask of "the stupid party girl". Another thing I love about Bryce is the way she takes the negative words towards her. She's been called awful names for being half-blooded. She never really cares and even provokes people to attack her. "Crescent city" is a really underrated and well-written fantasy, which I would recommend to every teenager. |
